Easier
Done Than Said

How many times have you heard the
familiar expression, "It is easier said than done?”
Probably more times than you can count. How many times
have you used that saying yourself? Probably a lot more
times than you care to remember.
When we say that it is easier to
say something rather than do something,
aren't we really just making an excuse for not doing
what needs to be done? That is exactly what we are doing
-- and that is not a healthy habit for us to develop.
Would-be winners fail to win because
they constantly look for reasons and excuses why things
"can't" be done, while the winners look for ways to make
things happen. Would-be winners con themselves into
thinking that things are a lot harder than they appear.
In their mind, it is a lot easier to make excuses than
put forth the required effort. After all, if they can
make themselves believe that a task is simply too
difficult, they can convince themselves it is perfectly
OK to make excuses and find reasons it "CAN'T" be done.
Power performers believe that anything
worth doing is worth doing now.
Without question, winners fervently believe that
anything worthwhile is easier done than
said.
Rather than waste their valuable time
tossing out excuses or conjuring up reasons why
something can’t be done, the winners elect to just go
out and do whatever needs to be done, whenever it is
needed. These prime time performers never sit around and
make up excuses, they get off their duffs and make
history instead. They would much rather end each day
with a list of things accomplished than hold a worthless
list of excuses made.
Winners generally waste very little time
talking about what they are going to do, they
just go out and do it. They are so busy finding ways to
turn their dreams into reality that they have no time
for making up silly excuses.
It is time for you and me to write our
own success stories. Like any good story, let's make
certain our story from this point forward starts with a
great beginning and has a happy ending. Let's develop an
act now and talk later approach to our lives. Then
before we can say it can't be done, we will have already
done it.
