Go With
the Flow
By Greg Hickman
“Everything is in motion. Everything flows.
Everything is vibrating.”
Wayne Dyer
How many times have we heard someone say that we
should just go with the flow? More times than we can
remember, right? And while going with the flow isn’t
likely to rock too many boats, will it take you where
you’ve always dreamed of going? Maybe yes, and then
again, maybe no — and here’s why.
While I will quickly grant you that going with the
flow can be some sound advice to follow, it has to be
your own flow and not someone else’s if
you truly desire to make your most cherished dreams come
true.
“Spiritual energy flows in and produces effects in
the phenomenal world.”
William James
So what does going with the flow mean to you? If it’s
doing your own ‘thing,’ throwing your heart and soul
into those activities and pursuits you truly were born
to do, you’re probably already having the time of your
life. By tapping into your own flow and then going with
it, you’ll discover that you can indeed achieve anything
and everything you have the courage to accomplish, hold
and have.
However, if going with the flow just means hanging
out with those around you and doing whatever they you
are doing or not doing, chances are pretty good that
your flow will sooner or later come to a screeching
halt. Why? Because it is not your flow; not the
things you were put on earth to dream, reach out and
achieve.
“Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way
they like.”
Lao-Tzu
Far too often we see what other people have or
observe what other folks are doing and begin patterning
our own behavior after them, hoping to generate the same
if not better results. Before long, we end up
disappointed and disheartened, left wondering why we
couldn’t pull it off like the high flyers we desperately
long to emulate. What we fail to realize is that we can
fly as high if not higher than our peers if we would
only allow those wondrous capabilities we hold within us
to freely flow — and then passionately follow them
wherever they may take us.
Instead of constantly swimming against the current or
going against the grain like you may have done in the
past, why not choose to lighten your load by taking the
path of least resistance: going with the flow instead of
against it? Rather than wasting your energy and effort
chasing your tail in the unsuccessful pursuit of your
dreams, why not set your own tempo and direction by
tapping into this internal wellspring of electrically
charged energy?
“You can have peace of mind, improved health and
an ever-increasing flow of energy. Life can be full of
joy and satisfaction.”
Norman Vincent Peale
Going with your own flow can take your life to a
whole new level of excitement and achievement,
propelling you well beyond what you presently believe is
possible. Hey, isn’t it about time that you started
making your life the action packed adventure you deserve
to live? Great! And here’s comes the best part of the
deal. Your natural flow is there for the taking.
This magical, marvelous flow to everything you have
ever imagined is not some hidden, ever elusive pathway
that is located out of sight or out of reach. Not even
close. Whether you know it or not, a lifetime brimming
with health, hope and happiness is right where is has
always been — right there just inches from the outside
world, tucked away in your heart and soul. The question
is simply this: are you daring enough to bring it to the
outside where the action is happening — and then get
happening yourself? You bet you are!
"The quality of the imagination is to flow and not
to freeze.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
You already know where that flow wants to take you.
Yes, you do. You’ve felt it on countless occasions
reverberating down inside of you, right there where it’s
been for years and years. There can be no denying it;
you’ve felt that fascinating, forceful flow time and
time again, begging you to toss aside all those worries
and fears that have held you back in the past.
Your creative imagination has tugged at your heart
strings time and time again, urging you to boldly blast
your way out of the ordinary and into the out of this
world future that awaits. Instead of following in the
footsteps of others and getting caught in the wake of
their flow, why not forge your own destiny by going with
your own flow and blazing your own trail into history?
The Bottom Line: When you go with your flow,
there is no telling how far you can go.
